Editorial policy
This page explains the rules every page on GTA6Sidekick is held to. If a page breaks one of them, that is a mistake, and we want to hear about it.
1. Sources, in order of weight
- Official. Rockstar's own site, Newswire posts and support pages, Take-Two investor releases and filings, and platform store listings.
- Trailers and official video. Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and the Extended Look, cited with what is visible on screen.
- Named press. Reporting by established outlets, attributed to the outlet, and to the journalist where it matters.
- Community. Fan trackers, wikis and community mapping. Used only when labelled as community work, and never as the sole basis for a claim presented as fact.
Every factual sentence carries a numbered citation that links to the source list at the end of the page. Our publishing pipeline refuses to build a page whose citations do not resolve to a listed source.
2. Confirmed, reported and unconfirmed
We keep three things apart: what Rockstar or Take-Two has confirmed, what a named outlet has reported, and what the community believes. Speculation is marked as speculation in the text, and every page ends with what is still unknown. Secrets and easter eggs that are not visible in official material carry an "unconfirmed" badge.
3. Leaked material
We do not publish, embed, describe or build claims on leaked footage, leaked maps or datamined files. Leaks show unfinished builds, they were obtained without permission, and they cannot be verified against anything Rockstar has released.
4. How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to help research and draft pages, working from the sources each page lists. The rules above apply to that work exactly as they would to anything else: every factual statement must trace to a cited source, unsupported claims are not published, and speculation must be labelled. Automated checks run on every build to catch broken citations, duplicate pages and missing sources. We do not use AI-generated images of the game.
5. Updates
Pages are living documents. When Rockstar publishes something new, the affected pages are rewritten, not just appended, and the "Updated" date at the top changes. When two pages ended up covering the same ground, we merged them into one stronger page and redirected the old address to the right section.
6. Corrections
If you find an error, email gta6sidekick@gmail.com with the page address and what is wrong. We check it against the sources, fix confirmed errors as quickly as we can, and update the page date. If a correction changes the meaning of a page, we say so on the page.
7. Independence and money
GTA6Sidekick is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. No page is sponsored or paid for. Revenue comes from an optional Premium subscription and, later, from clearly marked advertising, neither of which influences what we write.
