How the GTA6Sidekick Weekly Grind Optimizer will work

A plain explanation of our weekly planner: what it reads, what it recommends, what it will never claim to know, and when it arrives

Updated September 3, 2026 · 7 min read · 6 sources

The Weekly Grind Optimizer is our own tool, so this page is an explanation of what we are building rather than a report on Rockstar. We think it is worth explaining plainly, because most grind tools on the internet either guess at numbers or quietly stop being updated.

The problem it solves

GTA Online's earnings are driven by a rotation that changes every event week, normally on a Thursday. The list is public, but it is long: multipliers on a dozen activities, discounts across vehicles and properties, a podium vehicle, a Prize Ride, a Gun Van stock and member-only extras. Most players skim it, pick nothing, and default to whatever they did last week.12

The gap is not information, it is translation. Knowing that a race series is at 4X does not tell you what to do with the ninety minutes you actually have on a Tuesday evening.12

How it works

You tell it three things: how long you have, who you are playing with, and what you already own. It reads the current week's published bonuses and discounts and returns an ordered plan for that session, with the boosted activities first, the free claimable items folded in, and any relevant discount flagged before you spend.12

  • Session length, so a thirty minute plan and a three hour plan are genuinely different.1
  • Solo or group, because cooperative content and solo content pay differently.12
  • What you own, so it does not recommend content behind a purchase you have not made.2
  • A spend check, flagging discounted items that are on your list before you buy at full price.2

The rules we hold ourselves to

Every recommendation is traceable to the published weekly rotation. If a bonus is not in the week's official list, it does not appear in a plan. We will not publish estimated payouts dressed up as measured ones, and where a number is a community estimate we will label it as one.12

We also will not pretend to know things about Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar has announced no online mode for GTA VI and Take-Two describes the game as a single-player experience, so there is nothing for a grind optimiser to optimise there yet.34

What happens when GTA 6 lands

For launch, the tool covers what actually exists. If and when Rockstar announces an online service for GTA VI with its own event structure, we will extend the optimiser to cover it, based on published information only. Until that announcement exists, adding a GTA 6 tab would mean inventing the contents.34

Speculation, labelled as such: we expect a future Rockstar online mode to use some form of rotating weekly incentives, because GTA Online has run that model for years. Rockstar has confirmed nothing of the kind for GTA 6.

What it will never be

It is not a cheat, a money glitch finder, or an account service. Modifying GTA Online, abusing exploits or trading accounts risks your progress and your access, and no planner is worth that. The optimiser only ever tells you which legitimate, published activity pays best this week.12

What is confirmed versus what is precedent

To be clear about what this page is: everything about the tool itself is our own product description, so it carries no source numbers. Everything about why the underlying problem exists, the size and complexity of GTA Online's weekly system, is drawn from public GTA Online information and cited normally.1256

GTA Online history that shows why this is hard to do by hand

The rotation the optimizer reads is not a short list. It layers discounts, multipliers, a podium vehicle, a Prize Ride and a Gun Van stock on top of whatever content Rockstar has shipped that year, and Rockstar kept shipping large content well into 2026, including a full new heist, the Kortz Center Heist, in July.125 Details that change the maths further complicate a manual read: the Diamond Casino Heist's best payout, close to GTA$4.7 million on Hard Mode with the Diamonds target, only applies to a crew's first completion of that specific week, and drops to roughly half that on a repeat run in the same period.6 Spotting that kind of first-run-only condition by skimming a patch note is exactly the kind of detail a planner should catch and a tired player skimming on a Tuesday night will not.

Mistakes we are designing the tool to avoid

  • Publishing a single flat payout number for content that actually pays differently on a first run versus a repeat run in the same week.6
  • Recommending something behind a purchase the player has not made, which just wastes their session.2
  • Letting old data linger after a weekly reset. A planner that is a week stale is worse than no planner.12
  • Presenting a community estimate with the same confidence as a Rockstar-published number.12

What would change this page

The obvious trigger is a Rockstar announcement of a GTA 6 online mode with its own published activities. The moment that happens, we extend the optimizer to cover it using only what Rockstar publishes, and this page gets rewritten to describe two tools instead of one. Until then, there is nothing for a GTA 6 tab to read.34

Related questions answered

Does the optimizer try to predict future bonus weeks? No. It reads the current published week only; predicting Rockstar's schedule would be guessing dressed up as a feature.12 Will it ever recommend paid boosts like Shark Cards? No. It only orders legitimate, already-published free activities and discounts by value for your session.12

We are building this specifically because we got tired of grind guides that quietly stop updating the week a patch changes something. A planner that recommends a discontinued business or a discount that ended last Thursday is worse than nothing, because it looks current when it is not. The commitment behind the Weekly Grind Optimizer is boring on purpose: refresh on reset day, cite the published rotation, and say plainly when something is a community estimate rather than an official number.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Weekly Grind Optimizer actually do?

It turns the current published weekly bonus and discount rotation into an ordered plan for the session length and group size you tell it.12

Does it work for GTA 6?

Not yet. Rockstar has announced no online mode for GTA 6, so there is nothing to plan around.34

Where do the numbers come from?

From the published weekly rotation. We do not publish invented payouts, and community estimates are labelled as estimates.12

Is it a glitch or cheat tool?

No. It only covers legitimate activities from the official weekly list.12

Does the optimizer account for first-run-only bonuses?

Yes, that is exactly the kind of condition it is built to catch, since content like the Diamond Casino Heist pays close to GTA$4.7 million only on a crew's first completion of the week and roughly half that on a repeat.6

Will the optimizer's GTA Online data go stale?

It reads the current published weekly rotation, so it needs to refresh on reset day like any other source that tracks GTA Online's weekly system.12

Is the tool affiliated with Rockstar?

No. It is our own planner built on publicly published GTA Online information, not an official Rockstar product.
