GTA 6 easter eggs: every returning GTA brand spotted in Trailer 1
Weazel News, Sessanta Nove, Go Postal and Logger all reappear in Trailer 1, quietly tying Leonida to the same universe as GTA V
Beyond the beer brands, Trailer 1 is dense with logos carried over from earlier Grand Theft Auto games. Pausing through the urban footage turns up Weazel News, Sessanta Nove, Go Postal and Logger, none of them called out, all of them recognisable to anyone who spent time in Los Santos12.
What each one is
- Weazel News: the series' patriotic cable news network, a standing parody of American right-leaning broadcast news, present since the HD-era games2
- Sessanta Nove: the luxury fashion house from Grand Theft Auto V, whose name is Italian for sixty-nine and whose monogram apes a well-known real luxury mark2
- Go Postal: the postal and shipping chain, here carrying the double-meaning slogan "Collect Yourself"2
- Logger: the cheap regional beer that has been on Grand Theft Auto shelves since San Andreas, now with a light variant on the label2
The rest of the shelf
The four headline names are not the whole list. Other outlets combing the same footage spotted Pisswasser, the series' long-running lager parody, alongside a Pisswasser Nein bottle suggesting a non-alcoholic version has been added to the lineup, plus eCola cans sitting next to it in the same shot4. A storefront elsewhere in the trailer displays an iFruit Pay logo, extending the series' running Apple parody from the iFruit phone brand into the mobile payments space4. None of these get a close-up or a line of dialogue; they are exactly the kind of background detail Rockstar has always used to make Leonida feel like a place with its own economy rather than a movie set24.
The one notable absence
One brand conspicuously was not spotted: Sprunk, the fictional soda that has appeared in every main Grand Theft Auto game since San Andreas and has been used as an event sponsor and vehicle livery inside Grand Theft Auto Online56. Its absence from Trailer 1 does not mean it is gone; a two-and-a-half-minute trailer cannot show every vending machine in a state the size of Leonida, and Rockstar has a long history of holding some returning brands back for later marketing or for the game itself45. We flag it because a gap in a background-brand list is still useful information: it tells you what has not yet been confirmed, which is different from what has been ruled out.
Why it matters
Returning brands are the cheapest and most reliable continuity signal Rockstar has. They establish that Leonida sits in the same commercial America as Los Santos and Liberty City without committing the story to any character or event23. For anyone tracking what Grand Theft Auto VI will actually contain, they also tell you which systems are coming back: a news network implies broadcast and radio satire, a fashion label implies clothing shops, a postal chain implies deliveries or side work3.
Compared with a brand-new logo invented purely for Grand Theft Auto VI, a returning one also carries baggage the writers can use for free: players already know Weazel News leans into outrage television and already know Sessanta Nove is a luxury label worth mocking, so a single glimpse of either logo does narrative work that would otherwise need a whole scene to set up2.
Rockstar's long history of recycling its own brands
None of this is new behaviour for the studio. Ammu-Nation, the gun-store chain with a comically libertarian sales pitch, first appeared in Grand Theft Auto III and has anchored the series' weapon shopping in nearly every entry since56. Cluckin' Bell, the fried-chicken parody of KFC, and Sprunk, the Sprite stand-in, both trace back to San Andreas, with Sprunk in particular carried into every main game since and Cluckin' Bell resurfacing across Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto V6. The in-world stock exchange, Bawsaq, is a smaller-scale example of the same habit: Grand Theft Auto V let players trade shares in fictional companies including Sprunk's own parent business, folding one running joke into another instead of inventing a new one from scratch6. Community catalogues that track these fictional companies describe the pattern as one of the load-bearing pieces of Grand Theft Auto's identity: the world feels continuous specifically because the same fake brands keep paying rent in it, game after game56.
Fact versus theory on this page
Confirmed: every brand named on this page is visible on screen in official Trailer 1 footage, independently logged by multiple outlets working from the same source video124. Also confirmed, from earlier games rather than from this trailer: the real-world products each brand is built to resemble, and the fact that most of these names predate Grand Theft Auto VI by at least one console generation26. Unconfirmed: whether any of them function as a usable business, a shop with an interior, or a mission location in the finished game, since a background logo says nothing about interactivity on its own23.
What this does not prove
A logo in a background plate is not a confirmed feature. None of these brands has been shown as an enterable business, a mission giver or a shop in Grand Theft Auto VI, and Rockstar has not listed any of them on the official site23. Read them as continuity, not as a feature list.
What would confirm more of the list
A second trailer, gameplay footage, or the official site adding a store locator or business page would be the clearest way to turn any of these sightings into a confirmed, enterable location. Short of that, screenshots from press previews or a strategy guide describing shops by name would also count. Until one of those happens, treat this page as a spotting log rather than a features list: it says what Rockstar has shown, not what the game will let you do with it12.
