Vice City in GTA 6: every confirmed district, from Ocean Beach to Stockyard

Vice City is the urban heart of the state of Leonida and the place GTA 6's marketing returns to more than anywhere else. Rockstar sells it as the sun and fun capital of America, a long way from the 1980s but still built on glamour, hustle and greed¹. It is the same fictional city the series visited in 2002, rebuilt for the present day, and every outlet that has covered the reveal reads it as Rockstar's version of Miami²³.

This page is our district guide. It collects every part of Vice City that Rockstar has named on its website, written into its edition and pre-order copy, or shown on a road sign in a trailer, and says plainly which of those three it is. That distinction matters, because Rockstar has still not published a map, and a lot of what circulates online as a district list comes from the 2022 and August 2026 leaks rather than from anything the studio has released²⁹.

How Vice City's districts are known

There are three official routes by which a Vice City place name has become public, and they carry different weight.

• Rockstar's own district list. The Only in Leonida page names four areas: Ocean Beach with its pastel art deco hotels, Little Cuba with its busy panaderias, the Tisha-Wocka flea market where the bootleg brands live, and the VC Port, billed as the cruise ship capital of the world¹.
• Edition and pre-order copy. Descriptions of cars, boats and Ultimate Edition shops added Stockyard, Washington Beach and Shore Drive, plus businesses such as Stock 305, Electric Fang, Sara's Unisex Salon and Rideout Customs¹⁰².
• Road signs and on-screen text. Trailer 1 showed signs and chyrons for Kelly County, Catalan Boulevard, the VCI airport, Vice Beaches, Port VC, Stockyard and Downtown, and Trailer 2 added Southside as Jason drives past signs for Ambrosia, Downtown and VCI Airport⁴⁵.

Everything below is sorted by that evidence. Where a real Miami counterpart is given, it comes from reporters matching footage to real buildings, not from Rockstar, unless we say otherwise.

Ocean Beach

Ocean Beach is the beachfront strip and the most recognisable part of the whole map. Rockstar lists it first, with pastel art deco hotels and bright white sand, and it is the district the Vice City look is built on¹. It returns from the 2002 game, and Trailer 1 contains shots that reporters read as updated versions of the original Ocean Beach and the neighbouring Starfish Island⁴. The Vintage Vice City pre-order pack puts a garage beside "the world-famous Ocean Beach" and shows Jason and Lucia outside the Ocean View Hotel, the clearest callback to 2002 in the official material¹⁰.

The real-world basis is South Beach and Ocean Drive in Miami Beach, and here the evidence is unusually concrete. Miami New Times matched individual buildings: the Hotel Breakwater becomes Hotel Boardwalk and the Hotel Victor becomes Hotel Dixon, both keeping their neon art deco detailing, while the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, the Hilton McAlpin Ocean Plaza, 1500 Ocean Drive and the Hilton Bentley in South of Fifth also appear⁶. The same paper spotted a plane trailing a banner for a fictional club called Nine1Nine, a joke at the expense of the real club E11even and its own aerial ads⁶. Rockstar's screenshots add ordinary beach life too: a lifeguard stand, joggers, sunbathers and a basketball court running back from the sand¹.

Shore Drive

Shore Drive exists in exactly one line of official copy. Rockstar describes the '95 Grotti Cheetah pre-order car as Grotti's signature mid-'90s sports car and "an ode to Shore Drive", available to punctuate later-stage action¹⁰. Rockstar does not build poster-car copy around back streets, so the name puts Shore Drive in the cultural slot real Ocean Drive occupies: the strip you cruise to be seen on¹⁰⁶. No trailer shot has been tied to it by name, and its route is unknown, but the beachfront Trailer 1 shows, with convertibles, palm trees and neon after dark under signs for Vice Beaches, fits the description⁴.

Washington Beach

Washington Beach is another returning name from the 2002 game, confirmed by a single sentence in the Ultimate Edition breakdown: the Shitzu Squalo speedboat is docked at Washington Beach, ready for casting in Gambit Bay, and kitted out for the open ocean with an explosives-laden weapons crate¹⁰. That one line confirms the district, moorings with access to open water, and a named fishing spot nearby¹⁰. Rockstar's captions show the same boat running past a lit skyline at night and being chased by a police helicopter and boat¹⁰.

No Washington Beach buildings have been matched by name. Miami New Times did match two Mid-Beach properties north of the Ocean Drive strip, Flamingo Point and a penthouse in the Fontainebleau's Trésor Tower, without tying them to an in-game district, which is at least consistent with a Washington Beach further up the barrier island, as in the 2002 game⁶².

Little Cuba

Little Cuba is one of Rockstar's four named districts, and the one it uses to show that Vice City is not all beachfront. The only official detail is its bustling panaderias, the family bakery-cafes that anchor everyday life in Miami's Cuban-American neighbourhoods¹. GamesRadar describes it as the compact hustle and bustle counterpart to Ocean Beach³, and PC Gamer treats it as part of the evidence that the city has grown from a beach strip into a full metropolitan area².

The name points squarely at Little Havana, west of downtown Miami, but Rockstar has not said so and no real Little Havana streets have been matched to footage the way Ocean Drive's hotels have². No trailer scene has been publicly identified as taking place in Little Cuba, so for now it is a district known from one line of website copy¹³.

Tisha-Wocka flea market

Tisha-Wocka is the strangest name on Rockstar's list, credited only with the city's bootleg brands¹. The community decoded it in August 2026: it compresses Opa-tisha-wocka-locka, the long form of the name of Opa-locka, a small city in Miami-Dade County laid out in the 1920s as an Arabian Nights fantasy town, with Moorish Revival domes and a large indoor flea market of hundreds of stalls¹¹. Rockstar has not confirmed the link, but the pun is too specific to be an accident¹¹.

A counterfeit market is classic GTA territory, a place where fake brands are the whole point¹. PCQuest suggests fencing, street hustles and pickpocketing would suit it, but that is the outlet's guess rather than a feature Rockstar has announced, and the market has not appeared in either trailer¹¹².

The VC Port

The VC Port gets the boldest line in Rockstar's copy: the cruise ship capital of the world¹. Trailer 1 confirmed it before the website did, with a road sign reading Port VC, and the same trailer's traffic includes cargo ships and cruise ships among the jumbo jets, yachts and speedboats⁴. The obvious counterpart is PortMiami, one of the busiest cruise ports anywhere, which sits across the water from downtown Miami².

Rockstar has named no shipping line or cruise brand, shown no screenshot captioned at the port, and announced no mission there¹². Container terminals and open water make it natural ground for chases and smuggling runs, but that is expectation, not confirmation.

Downtown

Downtown is the high-rise core, and it has never appeared on Rockstar's website. It is known from road signs: Trailer 1 showed what looked like a district sign for Downtown, and Trailer 2 repeated it among the signs Jason passes⁴⁵. That gap is a useful reminder that the official district list is a highlight reel, not an index².

The footage fills in the rest. Trailer 2 shows an elevated commuter train that PC Gamer reads as GTA's version of Miami's MetroRail, which in reality runs through downtown and Brickell⁵. Miami New Times matched the Brickell tower with the circular cut-out between its twin blocks, Ten Museum Park and the neighbouring Grayson Hotel on Biscayne Boulevard, and the Venetian Causeway with its waterfront apartment blocks⁶. Rockstar's own night-time skyline shot, with a ferris wheel turning among the towers, is captioned simply as Vice City rather than Downtown¹.

Stockyard

Stockyard is a district Rockstar has never described but has attached two named businesses to. It first surfaced as on-screen text in Trailer 1⁴. The edition copy then named Stock 305, "Stockyard's premier destination for elevated streetwear", and Electric Fang, "Stockyard's most iconic ink bar", with more than 50 tattoos designed by the art collective FAILE¹⁰. Both shops are Ultimate Edition content, and Rockstar's gallery shows them as full interiors with staff: Lucia in the tattoo chair, Jason against a wall display inside Stock 305¹⁰.

Stock 305 borrows Miami's area code. The strongest real-world clue is visual rather than a name: Miami New Times matched the Wynwood Walls murals in the reveal footage, down to tags resembling the work of Miami street artist KBT⁶. Wynwood is a former warehouse district reinvented around street art, which fits a fictional Stockyard built around a tattoo parlour and a streetwear store. PC Gamer also reports an Ultimate Edition raid on the PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store in Southside Vice City, which sits in the same batch of edition content².

Vice City International Airport

The airport is everywhere in the footage and almost nowhere in the official text. What is confirmed is narrow: the abbreviation VCI appears on road signs in both trailers⁴⁵, and Trailer 1's traffic includes jumbo jets, biplanes, seaplanes and helicopters⁴. Rockstar's gallery has a jet passing over a sign reading Vice City, which is as close as the official material gets to the airport itself¹. "Vice City International" is the reading everyone has settled on for VCI, not a name Rockstar has written out⁴.

The real counterpart would be Miami International, inland and west of downtown, and the 2002 game had its own Escobar International. Whether terminals are enterable or planes can be taken from VCI is unconfirmed²⁴. Claims about several airfields across Leonida come from the August 2026 leak, which Take-Two had taken down and which we do not use⁹.

The real Miami underneath

Miami New Times matched roughly 20 real South Florida buildings to the reveal footage, from Ocean Drive's art deco hotels to the Brickell towers and Wynwood's murals⁶. That level of one-to-one copying, sometimes only renaming a building, is the strongest evidence that Vice City is Miami with the serial numbers filed off rather than a generic tropical city. The 26-minute Extended Look that premiered on Netflix on August 27, 2026 stayed mostly inside Vice City and the water around it⁷. GamesRadar's breakdown noted crowded nightclubs where Lucia visibly sweats, an old convertible Sentinel that nods to the original game, and an ocean full of manatees, dolphins and stingrays that the pair swim and jet-ski through⁸.

Gangs, crews and street life

GamesRadar's pass over Trailer 1 logged groups active in and around the city: the Thrillbilly Mud Club, a mud-racing crew; High Rollerz Lifestyle, a street-racing outfit; and an unnamed pack of cyclists and ATV riders, alongside a news report about a dirt bike gang⁴. The trailer also runs a TikTok-style video feed tagged #have.a.vice.day, and one clip set in a neighbourhood called Hamlet, an older woman waving two hammers at the camera, is one of the few Vice City place names to come from a gag rather than a sign⁴.

Trailer 2 added the gun store Phil's Ammu-Nation, which PC Gamer reads as a likely nod to Phil Cassidy, the gun runner from GTA 3 and Vice City, while flagging reasons for doubt⁵. A green "Manatees" football jersey is GTA's parody of the Miami Dolphins⁵.

What is still unknown

Rockstar has not published a map, so the size of Vice City, the boundaries between its districts and the full district list are all unconfirmed². Detailed maps that appeared online in August 2026 are said to come from an internal development build; Take-Two answered with copyright takedowns, the material may be outdated, and we do not use it⁹. When Rockstar publishes the real map, every section on this page gets checked against it.
