GTA 6 pre-order guide: where to buy, bonuses and pre-load dates
GTA 6 pre-orders are open worldwide. What each edition costs, what the Vintage Vice City Pack includes and when pre-loading starts.
Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI opened at midnight local time on June 25, 2026, and are live worldwide. Rockstar lists the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Games Store and global retailers as the places to buy.12
The two editions
There are two: the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. Take-Two confirmed both prices in its June 24, 2026 press release. There is no Collector's or Special Edition, and Rockstar has not announced one.2
The Ultimate Edition is digital only. It bundles the game with the Ultimate Edition Upgrade, a set of vehicles, weapons, apparel, shops and properties that unlock across the story rather than all at once. Standard Edition owners can buy that upgrade separately at any time from the PlayStation or Microsoft stores once their copy is redeemed, which is listed on the Xbox Store at $20.00.35
What every pre-order gets
Every pre-order, and in fact any purchase made before November 20, 2026, includes the Vintage Vice City Pack. Rockstar's support pages list its contents as a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage, outfits and hairstyles, an exclusive weapon pattern, and one month of GTA+ membership.3
The free GTA+ month applies to digital pre-orders. On PlayStation it must be redeemed by March 31, 2027, and it auto-renews at the normal monthly price after the first month unless you cancel. On Xbox it must be redeemed within 180 days of placing the pre-order. Read the terms on your platform before you assume it is a one-off freebie.45
Physical copies have no disc
The boxed version contains a download code, not a disc. Rockstar has confirmed this in plain language on its support site. Boxes reach retailers from November 12, 2026 so that code buyers can pre-load on the same day as digital buyers. There is no physical Ultimate Edition.3
Pre-loading and region rules
Pre-loading begins at midnight local time on November 12, 2026, a week before launch. Codes redeemed before that date start their download on the 12th.3
Codes are region-tied on PlayStation: a code bought in one region group only works on an account registered in that group, and Rockstar publishes the full country lists. Japanese codes expire 170 days after the November 19 issuance date because of local regulation. Xbox codes are not region-locked. Buying a cheap import code is a real way to end up with something you cannot redeem.3
Should you pre-order at all?
The only thing pre-ordering locks in beyond a queue position is the Vintage Vice City Pack, and that bonus is available on any purchase up to November 19, 2026. Waiting until launch week costs you nothing except the pre-load window. Digital pre-orders can be cancelled on both storefronts under their normal refund rules.3
If you have not decided yet
Rockstar's first pre-order post, on June 18, 2026, suggested adding the game to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store to be alerted when pre-orders went live. That wishlist is still the lowest-commitment option: it costs nothing, it does not reserve anything, and it means storefront changes such as the eventual install size appearing show up in your own library rather than in a rumour thread.6
The one deadline that actually matters is November 19, 2026 at 23:59:59, after which the Vintage Vice City Pack and the GTA+ month stop being included. Everything before that point is the same offer, whether you buy in June or on launch night.34
Regional pricing outside the US
The $79.99 and $99.99 figures are US dollars, but the UK and Eurozone prices were reported alongside them when pre-orders went live on June 25, 2026: £69.99 and £89.99 in the UK, €79.99 and €99.99 across the Eurozone. None of these are straight currency conversions of the US price; each storefront sets its own regional figure, which is why the Euro number matches the dollar number even though exchange rates do not.7
Why Take-Two is comfortable with no disc, in Zelnick's own words
Rockstar's support page states plainly that the box has no disc, but Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick gave the business reasoning on the company's August 7, 2026 earnings call. He said the company's business is well over 90 percent digitally distributed already, questioned whether a physical release even means a single disc at this scale, and argued that since an online connection is required to register a copy either way, the delivery method matters less than it used to. He compared occasional physical runs to vinyl records persisting alongside streaming music: present, but no longer the default.8
Practical pre-order checklist
- Decide Standard or Ultimate based on whether you want bundled bonus content now versus buying the $20 upgrade later3
- Match a physical box to your PlayStation account's region if you are not buying digitally3
- Check your local storefront for the real regional price rather than converting from US dollars7
- Redeem the GTA+ month promptly if it matters to you, since it has its own redemption deadline separate from the game itself4
One more distinction worth being precise about: the free GTA+ month is a perk on top of the purchase, not a discount on it. Redeeming it starts a real membership clock, and on PlayStation that membership renews automatically at the normal monthly price after 30 days unless you cancel it yourself. Treat the pre-order bonus as a free trial with an opt-out you need to remember, not as a one-off gift that simply expires quietly.
What would change this guide
A change to the Vintage Vice City Pack contents, a new edition tier, or a shift in the November 20, 2026 bonus cut-off would all be reported on the Rockstar Newswire first, the same place every pre-order detail so far has originated. Regional prices could still move if a storefront adjusts for currency shifts before launch; if that happens we will update the figures above rather than leave the June 2026 numbers standing as current.17
