Seashark jet ski in GTA 6: the Sea-Doo of Vice City

The Seashark is the jet ski of Grand Theft Auto, and it belongs in Leonida more than it ever did in Los Santos. GTABase confirms it from the second GTA 6 trailer, and The Drive spotted one being towed through Vice City on a trailer behind a Bravado Bison¹²³. Charlie INTEL had also listed a Seashark among the watercraft in the first trailer⁴.

Where it appears, scene by scene

Trailer 2 is still the only confirmed sighting, but it offers two distinct looks rather than one. GTABase's confirmation cites the trailer directly, and The Drive separately spotted a Seashark riding on a trailer behind a Bravado Bison pickup, meaning the reveal showed the jet ski both in use on the water and as static cargo being hauled to a launch point in the same piece of footage¹²³. Coverage of the August 27, 2026 Extended Look reviewed for this article does not name a Seashark specifically among the boats and jet skis in that showcase, so its presence there is unconfirmed rather than denied¹³.

GTABase names the Sea-Doo RXT, the big three-seat runabout that dominates rental fleets on the American coast². Speedophile is Rockstar's typically unsubtle brand name for personal watercraft, and it has covered the Seashark since GTA V².

What the real Sea-Doo is actually like

BRP's own listing for the current Sea-Doo RXT-X describes a supercharged 1630 Rotax engine producing up to 350 hp, a fibreglass "ST3" hull tuned for stability in rough water, and seating for up to three riders, numbers that place the real RXT firmly at the performance end of the personal watercraft market rather than a budget rental unit⁶. GTABase's separate GTA V listing for the in-game Seashark gives it a 400 kg weight and two-seat capacity, both smaller than the real RXT-X's specification sheet, which fits a game vehicle built for handling and pop-up spawns rather than a literal one-to-one copy²⁵.

Sea-Doo's own history

Sea-Doo itself has a stranger origin than its current supercharged flagships suggest. Wikipedia's history traces the brand to a 1968 Bombardier project built around inventor Clayton Jacobson II's design, sold as "the Jet-powered Aqua Scooter" with a 320cc engine and a 25 mph top speed, discontinued after two years before Bombardier relaunched the brand properly in 1988¹⁰. That relaunch worked: by 1995 Sea-Doo was selling more than 100,000 units a year, and by 1997 it had recaptured over half of the personal watercraft market, numbers that help explain why Rockstar reached for a Sea-Doo shape rather than a rival brand when it needed a jet ski players would recognise instantly¹⁰.

GTABase traces the model back to GTA Vice City Stories, where it was simply called the Jet Ski, before it became the Seashark in GTA V and GTA Online². It is one of the vehicles most associated with beach missions and coastal chases across the series².

Brand history in the GTA series

Fandom's tracking of Speedophile as a manufacturer describes it as the series' dedicated personal watercraft badge, closely modelled on Sea-Doo with a smaller nod to Yamaha's WaveRunner line, and the in-universe name itself is a blunt pun on speed⁷⁸. The Seashark carries that badge from its first appearance as the plain "Jet Ski" in GTA Vice City Stories through to its current name in GTA V and GTA Online, where GTABase records a $16,899 purchase price and notes it cannot be modified or resold, unusually restrictive treatment even by the standards of GTA V's smaller vehicles²⁵⁸.

GTA V and GTA Online's Seashark is a fixed-spec pickup: no performance upgrades, no cosmetic customisation, sold only through DockTease or delivered by Pegasus Concierge for $16,899, with a top speed GTABase clocks at 67 mph⁵. That is a notably thin feature set for a series that lets players deeply customise cars and even some bikes, and it suggests jet skis have historically been treated as a scenery-adjacent toy rather than a serious vehicle category, something GTA 6's apparent lean into Leonida's coastline and Keys could plausibly change⁵.

What we expect in GTA 6

Given how much of Trailer 2 happens on or near water, from canal chases to beach scenes to the Keys themselves, it is a reasonable expectation that watercraft get more attention this time than the largely decorative boats of GTA V, though nothing here is a confirmed feature list¹³. The trailered Seashark shot in particular raises a specific, answerable question: whether hitching and launching a personal watercraft becomes something the player actually does, rather than a piece of set dressing glimpsed once in marketing footage³.

Trailer 2 leans heavily on water: the Keys, the canals, a boat escape and multiple beach scenes¹. Breakdowns of the trailer's opening note motorboats, jet skis and dinghies in the very first shots³. In a state built around a coastline and a wetland, small watercraft are transport rather than a novelty, which is a real change from GTA V's mostly decorative boats¹³.

Community theories

As with the series' other returning vehicles, there is a standing theory that GTA 6 assets like the Seashark started life as upgrades to existing GTA Online models rather than the reverse. Rockstar Intel's reporting on this, based on comparisons by 3D modeller Monkeypolice188, argues vehicles are built for GTA Online first and then given extra detail for GTA 6, which would mean today's GTA Online Seashark is a rough preview of the GTA 6 model's base shape rather than a downgraded copy of it⁹. That claim is about the series' production pipeline in general and has not been verified against the Seashark specifically⁹.
