GTA 6 Trailer 3: Launch Trailer breakdown, every scene and the song
GTA 6 Trailer 3, the October 15 Launch Trailer, broken down: every scene, the Justice song, the PS5 capture and what Rockstar still has not confirmed
Rockstar put out the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on Thursday, October 15, 2026, 35 days before the game reaches PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19. It is the third trailer for the game and runs about a minute and a half. Rockstar does not call it Trailer 3; its own video page labels it the Launch Trailer, while outlets such as Game Rant use the Trailer 3 name.134
When and where it dropped
There was no countdown this time. Kotaku reports the video simply appeared on Rockstar's X account that Thursday with no teasing beforehand, and the same day it was also posted to Rockstar's YouTube channel and the Newswire.125 The official Grand Theft Auto VI site added a Launch Trailer page that now lists four videos side by side, each with its date and run time.3
Rockstar's post also prints the full ESRB descriptor list: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs and Alcohol, along with a note on in-game purchases. One scene in this trailer earns several of those labels on its own, so it is worth knowing before you play it in a shared room.15

Every scene, in order
Rockstar has not published a shot list or timestamps, so the sequence below follows the press descriptions from Game Rant, Kotaku and Gfinity rather than a frame count of our own.4510
- Jason Duval opens in voiceover, saying he got into trouble in the army, did not leave on good terms, and that people like him are not given loans.4510
- Gfinity identifies Brian's Marina early in the cut, a property it links to Jason's landlord Brian Heder.10
- Jason picks up a phone call from Lucia Caminos.4
- The Rockstar Games Presents card appears and the Justice single kicks in.4
- A rapid action montage: Lucia leaping from a speeding car onto a plane in motion, heists, fist fights, gunfights, motorcycle stunts and police pursuits.4
- Quieter couple scenes: the two driving together, a balcony moment and a shower scene. Gfinity points out that Lucia wears an ankle monitor in the shower shot.510
- Small details Gfinity flagged: a T-shirt on Jason that reads U.S. Army Marauder Combat Training School, North Fort Law, and a brief shot of a dog in a colorful outfit.10
- Lucia asks whether they are going to be okay, and Jason replies that they have stuck together through everything.4
- The final shot has the pair jumping off a balcony while holding hands.4
What it tells us about the story
Rockstar's synopsis keeps the setup simple. Jason and Lucia have long felt the odds were rigged against them, and when a job that should have been easy goes bad, they land in the criminal underside of sunny Leonida, tangled in a conspiracy that spans the whole state. Getting out alive means trusting each other more than they ever have.1
The genuinely new piece is Jason's motive. His voiceover links his turn to crime to a rough exit from the military and to being locked out of ordinary credit, which Kotaku reads as a man who feels pushed into this life rather than drawn to it.5 Ynet adds that, beyond that service history, the trailer stays vague on plot and spends its time on mood and the relationship.7 Kotaku also notes that the shower scene is shown far more directly than anything of its kind in earlier entries of the series.5
The song: Justice, Flower in a Hurricane
The track is Flower in a Hurricane by Justice, the French electronic duo that Rockstar now confirms as the composers of the game's original score. It features Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and it is out now as a standalone single.19
Kevin Parker of Tame Impala and SZA carry the vocals, singing in harmony for most of the song, and Consequence notes that Parker also holds a guitar credit. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are listed among the composers and lyricists, though their part in the finished recording is harder to pick out.89 Parker and Justice have worked together before: Stereogum points to One Night/All Night and the Grammy-winning Neverender from the duo's 2024 album Hyperdrama.8
A note on the spelling: Rockstar writes Flower, singular, on both the Newswire post and the official site. Some coverage, Game Rant included, prints it as Flowers in a Hurricane, which is why both versions turn up in search.134
The single also sits on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the 34-track official soundtrack Rockstar is releasing with Atlantic Records on November 19. You can pre-save it on streaming services now, with vinyl and CD pre-orders at gtavi-thealbum.com, and Rockstar says more is coming on the game's music, including an official score album.111
Was it captured on PS5?
Yes, according to Rockstar. The video description says the trailer was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5, the same claim Rockstar attached to the Extended Look.613 What it does not say is which PS5. Ynet points out that Rockstar did not specify a standard console or a PS5 Pro, and Pure Xbox's view that most of the footage looks like a base PS5 is an outlet's judgment, not a statement from the studio.67
Pure Xbox also observes that the video opens with a plays best on PS5 message and that Xbox gets no mention in it. The official Launch Trailer page carries the same Plays Best On PS5 badge.36
How it compares with Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and the Extended Look
| Video | Date | Length | What it was for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trailer 1 | December 4, 2023 | 1:31 | Introduced Leonida and Vice City |
| Trailer 2 | May 6, 2025 | 2:47 | Named Jason and Lucia and set up the premise |
| An Extended Look | August 27, 2026 | 26:48 | Long-form gameplay showcase |
| Launch Trailer | October 15, 2026 | About 1:30 | Jason's backstory, the couple and the Justice single |
Dates and run times in the table come from Rockstar's own video page; the launch trailer's length is the press estimate, since Rockstar's page does not list one.34 At roughly 90 seconds it is closer to Trailer 1 than to Trailer 2, and after the 26-minute Extended Look it goes back to a short cinematic edit. Game Rant calls the structure familiar, cutting between the leads and the action, and like both numbered trailers it keeps the relationship at the center.34
The pacing has changed sharply. Game Rant counts 519 days between Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 and another 478 before the gameplay showcase, while the Launch Trailer arrived just 49 days after the Extended Look.34 The music has shifted too. Trailer 1 ran on Tom Petty's Love Is a Long Road and Trailer 2's second half belonged to The Pointer Sisters' Hot Together, both licensed songs, while this is the first trailer built around an original track from the game's own soundtrack.11415
What is still not confirmed, and what comes next
Ynet's read is that the trailer introduces no major new gameplay systems and says little about what you can do in the open world, so for mechanics the August Extended Look remains the reference.713
What comes next before November 19
Digital pre-loading opens on November 12, 2026, a week before launch.12 Collider adds that qualifying purchases made before November 20 include the Vintage Vice City Pack.16 Rockstar has promised more on the game's music, including the score album, and Game Rant suggests the launch label may mean the studio goes quiet until release, while noting more footage is still possible.14 The game and The Album both arrive on November 19.111
